Deep Tissue Relaxation Massage     OUR SPECIALTY!
Facilitated Wellness therapists have mastered the art of delivering a relaxing, full-body massage with deep-tissue intention. This is an art that really separates us from other massage therapy centers. Many of our clients request deep tissue massage to help them recharge from life’s stressors.

Deep tissue massage targets knots and releases chronic muscle tension. It also reduces inflammation and helps to eliminate scar tissue. The focus of deep tissue massage is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones joints).

Sports Recovery Massage
Boulder has athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers.  A sports recovery massage is customized to the athlete’s sport of choice and often focuses on a particular troublesome area like the knee or shoulder.

Sports massage promotes flexibility, removes fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares athletes to compete at their absolute best. It enhances pre-event preparation, reduces recovery time between workouts, helps athletes achieve maximum performance during training and aids in recovery after an event.

This style involves therapeutic assessment, manipulation and movement of soft tissue to reduce pain and dysfunction. When a trauma or overuse injury comes about, the body develops compensations that may create new pains in adjacent areas of the injury. Sports massage helps restore structural balance throughout the body and prevents and rehabilitates musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

Active Release Technique (A.R.T.)/Muscular Re-education
ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

Table Thai Stretching with Massage
This adaptation of Thai yoga bodywork for the massage table offers the same delicious stretching, acupressure, massage tissue manipulation, and passive yoga poses that are used in mat work, but with the added benefit of offering you the option to easily combine Thai and deep tissue massage in order to most effectively create balance in your body.
